SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORPORATION - TRADE FINANCE BLOCKCHAIN

  • Based on the Trade-Finance Model in Banking and Finance, the SMBC Blockchain application is developed to facilitate trade in the form of ledgers between various parties on a private, secure, blockchain-enabled business Network on IBM Bluemix. The smart contracts have been developed on Go Language and the Hyperledger Fabric being deployed using Docker on a Unix Soft-layer. The user interface for the application has been developed on AngularJS and running on a Java Liberty web application server. In the latest phase of the SMBC application, the integration of Watson IOT is introduced to track and gather GPS location data and environmental statistics like humidity, temperature, etc. of the shipments which are sensitive products like medicines. The Watson IOT data is received on the Liberty web server through a REST web service and then inserted into blockchain which triggers an event caught in Node.js. This event data is captured and based on which an e-mail is triggered including IOT data through SendGrid.
